The Majorelle Garden in Marrakesh is a famous botanic garden outside the old city of Marrakesh, called Medina. The famous fashion designer Yves Saint Lauren used to live here from 1980 until he died in 2008. The ashes of Yves Saint Laurent were scattered in the Jardin Majorelle during a ceremony hold by friends and colleagues.
When you are traveling to Marrakesh, Gomio recommends you to stay at a Hostel or Riad inside the older city, also called “The Medina“. Here you will have the famous main square of Jemaa el Fna which will help you a lot to orientate yourself, the souks, and the “real” Marrakesh. Just more or less 100m close to the Jemaa el Fna is the sight of the city of Marrakesh, the Koutoubia Mosque.

If you have the chance we recommend to bring a good camera for taking pictures. As the trees are spending a lot of shadow, it’s recommended to bring a camera which doesn’t need full sun light for a sufficient quality. The combination of water, plants, and the strong blue color of the house in Jardin Majorelle gives you the opportunity to take beautiful, unique photos of your Marrakesh trip.
