Melaleuca is an architecturally designed, tranquil retreat, set on 6 acres of natural bush land. It has been created using wood and glass to maximise light, space and harmony with nature.
Just 5 minutes walk from sparkling One Mile Beach and 7 minutes drive to Nelson Bay it is home to a large variety of native wildlife including koalas, possums, frogs, sugar-gliders and kookaburras.
Choose from our cabins that can be taken as 2 or 4 share or maybe a bed in a 6 share dorm room, or bring a tent and set yourself up on our camp area.
Kombis and vans have special shady areas set aside. During the Summer months we have luxury tent hire, including all linen, available.
All guests can utilise the fabulous main building that contains fully equipped kitchens, dining and lounge areas, with BBQs on the decked areas provided free for your use. Looking for some fun, try a Melaleuca Sandboarding tour, where we visit the spectacular coastal desert and sand dune system of Stockton Bight in our groovy 4WD, view aboriginal midderns, learn about the region from our informative guides and then, if you dare; sand board down massive dunes on the fastest boards in Port Stephens, before we head to the beach for Pippi collection and races. Bonus free whale watching from atop the dunes May to November. Not your thing? Try a Melaleuca Winery tour, where we visit the 2 local wineries and a brewery for samples of local produce. All Melaleuca tours depart from, and return to our camp. Port Stephens is the dolphin capital of Australia with a resident population of dolphins in the bay all year around. During May through to November you can also see the migration of the magnificent humpback whales as they journey up North. We can arrange the best discounts for all the local activities and book directly for you. CountryLink rail service operates from Sydney everyday or Port Stephens coaches will pick you up and drop you off right at our property.
