Hostel is in a perfect location; secure, clean, and the front desk staff were wonderful. Common areas closed at 1100, which in Barcelona, felt a little early, but the lobby area remained open for visiting after that time. My only suggestion for improvement, on an otherwise wonderful 1st-hostel experience, would be to change the time the kitchen is cleaned. There were a number of conflicts between those trying to fix breakfast and the cleaning person....it's just a busy time.

El hostal es muy bueno, las habitaciones son super comodas, hay lockers y el espacio común en muy ameno. Respecto a cómo llegar tuve bastantes problemas para encontrar el hostal, creo que tendrían que poner más puntos de referencias en las explicaciones, además que nadie ubica ese pasaje, si pusieran como referencia la cate...

El hostal es muy bueno, las habitaciones son super comodas, hay lockers y el espacio común en muy ameno. Respecto a cómo llegar tuve bastantes problemas para encontrar el hostal, creo que tendrían que poner más puntos de referencias en las explicaciones, además que nadie ubica ese pasaje, si pusieran como referencia la catedral y desde ahi los locales que son esquina de la calle que lleva al pasaje seria mucho mas facil, una vez encontrado esta todo bien es super centrico.

It was one of the best hostels in my life. And I´m 42 now. Only one point is not so good: we were in the appartement Dali, and the whole flat was very noisy about heating, toilet, other people, because it was old house. So you could listen to everybodys conversation from all 8 visitors there...But the good breakfast and the kind people of the hostel were the mainpositive aspects to book it again and to recommend it. All great mrs Helena that was taking care of cleanliness is a great lady and awesome at her job.. just the building was a bit old and dunno how safe it is but all else was wonderful

I couldn't love this place more! The design is funky and cool. Staff was wonderful. Great location, rooms were clean and spacious; Mine had a balcony and reading lights for each bed. This was the last place I stayed on a two month trip -- and easily my favorite. Stay here if you can!

It was generally pretty alright. We had an apartment for 8 people toourselves, probabl due to off peak season. The breakfast was included in the price, which was an added incentive as we were not informed previously. But one unpleasant thing is that the warm water runs out very fast if you shower in the morning.

the Itaca Hostel in Barcelona was great. Priced right in a very expensive city. The room las large, bright and very clean. The bathrooms although shared were spacious and clean as well. As an added bonus breakfast was included as well as the use of a fully equiped kitchen. The location was great, in the Bari Gothic which means the door sized windows opened onto a quaint street. Walking distance to everywhere yet quieter at night than Las Ramblas. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would reccommend Itaca to old or young, gay or straight, family, single or couple. Probably not suited to someone who demands room service.

I took a look a different hostels before booking and this was definately a good choice. Great location, nice staff, and the beds were pretty comfortable.

Mi estadia en Itaca fue excelente! Las dueñas y empleados son muy amables, el hostel es muy comodo y hay un ambiente familiar, sano y seguro. Lo recomiendo!

This hostel is an absolute perfect location! We were minutes away from the Cathedral, and about a 15 minute walk from the beach-- which you don't even notice because it's a beautiful walk along the port. The staff was extremely helpful and the whole building was always cleaned or being cleaned to keep the cleanliness. ...

This hostel is an absolute perfect location! We were minutes away from the Cathedral, and about a 15 minute walk from the beach-- which you don't even notice because it's a beautiful walk along the port. The staff was extremely helpful and the whole building was always cleaned or being cleaned to keep the cleanliness. The only downfall was the 4am curfew. The kitchen also closes at 10:30, which is hard because you're forced to congregrate in other locations, so you don't have to disturb others in the hostel. We were a group of 20/21 year old girls so it was hard to abide by the rules! Overall, a great experience--- and it was my first hostel, so it has set the bar high!

For some reason the Lonely Planet says this place has spacious dorms, and the photos on the advertising material of the hostel also suggest this. This is a tiny and cramped hostel. For some reason the Lonely Planet says this place has spacious dorms, and the photos on the advertising material of the hostel also suggest this. This is a tiny and cramped hostel. The dorms are noisy sardine tins. There is a decent communal area, which shuts at 11pm each night, which keeps the noise down after that hour, except after then there is nowhere to be except in bed or the tiny cramped thoroughfare reception area. Overall, a disappointing and expensive for what you get hostel. I would not recommend it or stay there again. The only thing it has going for it is it's very central location.
