Read more ► Since a confirmation and reservation is required the overall patronage was earnest and honest. No theft even after I left my camera in the common area for an afternoon. The lockers are big enough for a laptop and clothes but not a carry-on luggage. There was a great mix of nationalities passing through the week I stayed. The bar scene below the hostel can be noisy from 11pm-4am so bring ear plugs. The room I stayed in had 18 or so double bunks in the classic barrack style. Bring sandals for the shower as it the bathroom floor looks dangerously funky. For a cheap Estrella brew go to Tosca El Corral just caddy-corner from the hostel. The location in the Gotic barrio is super. The architecture is outstanding and it is a five minute walk from the beach, a 6-7 minute walk from La Rambla, and a 7-8 minute walk from La Jaume I metro stop. The price was way too expensive for the services and board but overall I give the place a C-. So it could be hot at nights. The locations is great. It is close to the metro and buses and is on the harbour front. Bathroom is small and not real private. Internet is available but you do need to bring your towel and linen. I am sure there are better place for the same cost.
