This isn't a bad hostel- it just had hidden charges, and I hate misrepresentation. Be prepared to pay extra is you want a second sheet (and although the hostel is fairly clean, you obviously don't want to sleep directly on the mattress) or if you want to pay with credit card. This isn't a bad hostel- it just had hidden charges, and I hate misrepresentation. Be prepared to pay extra is you want a second sheet (and although the hostel is fairly clean, you obviously don't want to sleep directly on the mattress) or if you want to pay with credit card. The 'kitchen' has only a glorified toaster, so don't expect to be able to cook for yourself. At 17.5 euros for a large mixed dorm it's not a great value to start, but then all housing in Barcelona is expensive.
Best part about it is the atmosphere. Lots of young people from all over the world- we made many great international friends and had so much fun going out with them at night.
Summary: if I could bring my own sheet and enough cash to pay, I would probably stay there again, but for a few days at most.

It was ok. The breakfast is to simple. Just rusk and not bread. For 9 people one shower and a toilet and you find one toilet (one women/one men) one floor downstairs it`s a shame. For the women: In the room is no mirror.
The location is Top. If you have breakfast you can see the sea, that`s wonderful.

I booked a room for two days. When I arrived the hostel the atmosphere was not bad. But after entering the room I understood that I made a mistake with with choosing this hostel. Fisrt of all the voice isolation is so bad, you can hear the nextdoor noise so much. You hear all the speechs. And secondly there wasn't a blanket ...

Fisrt of all the voice isolation is so bad, you can hear the nextdoor noise so much. You hear all the speechs. And secondly there wasn't a blanket on my bed. I was so surprised to hear that the blanket is extra (2 euros for a night). that must be a joke but it was not. Anyway at last I canceled the next day booking. Despite all of these problems the breakfast was very nice for such a hostal.

I stayed in a room number 108 and toilet there was broken which was a bit nasty. I missed a big gathering room because there wasn't one. Could be nice to have a room to go to, TV room or playroom, something like that. Location was AMAZING, I loved it so much! All together I liked it, it was all worth the money, location perf...

All together I liked it, it was all worth the money, location perfect and found the place very easy even that this was my very first trip to Barcelona.

las habitaciones no están cerradas. la parte superior de las paredes laterales comunican unas habitaciones con otras con lo que seguridad nula. para dormir muchísimo ruido de las otras habitaciones. la situación es perfecta para ir a la playa para ver, conocer barna está fatal.mejor pagar un poco más en el centro.

Friendly and extremely helpful staff, good location should one prefer to stay by the beach (it's not a long walk from the historical center either).
The only thing which is a bit bothering is the fact the bathroom is in the dormitory room. Although it makes it more available, it also generates more sound which could be uncomfortable should one want to wake up a bit late.
However, from a general prospective it's a great hostel, great value for money, and I highly recommend it!

I had a great experience at this hostel. The location was amazing, right on the famous beach of Barceloneta. The staff was great and very helpful. They were willing to research any activities around Barcelona for me and one of them even called a tour company and got a price quote for me. So useful!! A friend and I stayed in a 7...

They were willing to research any activities around Barcelona for me and one of them even called a tour company and got a price quote for me. So useful!! A friend and I stayed in a 7 bed mixed room, and although a little noisy at times we really had no issues. All of the other travelers were very friendly and we met people from all over the world! It was an overall great hostel and I would definitely recommend it!

To start the bunks feel fairly clinical, and I was lucky enough to get the odd one out - having to climb a ladder 10 steps up! But the worst of it all was the noise! During both my nights stay, the rooms next door (which aren't completely seperate), had a bunch of yelling girls, who thought it was great fun to have all the lights on and play music until after one in the morning. The obvious result was no sleep for me (or for that matter anyone)!
A throughly uncomfortable stay.

The most important thing people need to know is that the 9-bed dorms is false advertisement. The "walls" separating the "rooms" are not complete, and there is a large gap between the wall and the ceiling. So in reality they're more like partitions, and you're sharing a room with about thirty people.

We couldn't sleep all night because of the noise, all of which was coming from the rooms on either side of ours. Also, the hostel has no age restriction, and we had to share the room with a strange old man who smelled awful. AWFUL. The two women who work during the day are great and really helpful, but the overnight concierge, Rafael, is extremely rude and combative. We ended up getting half of our money refunded, which we greatly appreciated, but we would definitely not stay there again. The only positive factor was the location on the beach.

My friends and I booked the hostel hoping to be close to the beach and were extremely happy when we saw how close the hostel was. The staff were very helpful and the mixed ensuite dorm was excellent. Amazing shower! The only downside was there wasnt a communal chill out area where you could watch DVD's etc. and there was some extremely loud and inconciderate Germans next door that woke us up in the middle of the night. We have stayed in many hostels and this is definitely by far one of the best..and we therefore return in the near future... :)
