Vila de Alenquer, better known as Vila Presépio, is in the Western Region, a region of extensive vineyards and hills crowned with mills between a martime coast with extensive beaches and the beauty of the Tejo river.

Quinta do Covanco's excellent location - at the entrance to Vila de Alenquer and 30km from Lisbon - allows you to have a thoroughly deserved few days' break as well as getting to know other historic sites that are worth visiting such as Lisbon, Sintra, the Mafra and Queluz Convents, Óbidos, Nazaré and Tomar.

Quinta do Covanco dates back to the XIX century and is marked by a rural architectural style derived from the agricultural activities my grandfather performed in the past, namely vines. This imposing infrastructure was adapted to provide every comfort and a family atmosphere to those who visit us..

After a lovely night's sleep, there's nothing like a lovely breakfast where mother Teresa's home made cakes and compotes are the highlight - not to be missed.

A stroll through the Quinta could be the next part of the day, or a visit to the historic town of Alenquer and the Serra de Montejunto, or enjoy one of the country's best wines on the Wine trail or the West's beautiful beaches where Peniche, Santa Cruz, Nazaré and the Berlengas islands - a maritime nature reserve of rare beauty - are particularly noteworthy.

To bring such a lovely day to an end, you can enjoy a lovely home cooked meal, a drink in front of a relaxing hearth or even adventure out to sample the good gourmet cuisine of the municipality's restaurants.
