Information

Hostel The Globe is situated in the Red Light District and overlooks one of the famous canals ofAmsterdam. It is only a 3 minute walk from the Central Station.
The hostel has twin, triple and quadruple rooms as well as big and small dorms to offer.
Sleeping however is not the only thing you can do at our Hostel. The hostel has one of the biggest bars of the Red Light District that is open 24 hours! There's a restaurant in which not only English or American breakfast is served but also lunch or dinner.
But that's not all. Hostel The Globe is best known for its sports café. You can view all major sport events (like the Super Bowl, NFL, NBA, premiere league etc) on 9 TVs and 2 big screens.

A bit lacking in security, but they are sure to tell you everything is at your own risk... problem was that even the lockers were in danger, so ANYTHING valuable had to be left and retrieved every time you went home with the reception... but at least they let you do that. A bit lacking in security, but they are sure to tell you everything is at your own risk... problem was that even the lockers were in danger, so ANYTHING valuable had to be left and retrieved every time you went home with the reception... but at least they let you do that. I found the day staff to be very cool and nice and friendly, but they (Like us) found their employers to be too tight fisted to count as a reasonable place. It's just a bed I suppose with a shower (which were all decent facilities) but the only soap they offered (which there was none in the shared bathrooms - even at the bar!) was washing-up liquid.. or nothing. The NIGHT staff however.. oh my god! What an ...(think of a nasty word and add 'complete' or 'total' before it). Apparently the owners hired someone with an attitude problem to begin with to prevent any unnecessary enjoyment or need for assistance.. cos you WON'T get any. The owners themselves seem ok, but only if you stay within the rules and don't ask too many questions. LIke everywhere in Amsterdam, the coffee/food was pretty expensive. For a cheap place to stay with no frills and limited security, it's ok.
