Would definitely recommend this place to others. Staff were very friendly. Good central location and easy to find etc. Lockers will not fit backpack, but was nice atmosphere with room-mates. Crazy stairs were a novelty, shouldn't be a problem for most backpackers. Others paid less by booking through different websites. Place...

The place is for sure well located, But in our room there was no locker an the room are very very very tiny to fit 6 people, if two of us were standing the other four had to wait before even breath...cleanliness was ok, and facilities were ok but not that many, staff didn;t help too much when asked for it

I lived only 1 night and this is what I think:
Positives:
1. Amazing location
2. Good and helpful staff
3. 24 hour restaurant / coffee (for those hunger pangs)
4. Free wifi
5. Smoking allowed in the room if windows are opened (atleast that is what was written on a notice behind our room door)
6. Clean beds, toilets and floor. A...

6. Clean beds, toilets and floor. Absolutely did not expect that but found it super clean and smelled good too!
7. Absolute great value for money. I would recommend it.
Negatives:
1. A steep and narrow staircase, but that is common throughout Amsterdam. I personally did not have much of a problem with that.

30 euros per night for a dingy bed in a dingy hostel is a rip-off, especially considering the quality of hostels I've stayed in this summer in Prague, Berlin, and Munich. The staff was extremely nice and the convenience store/reception area downstairs wasn't bad, aside from the 2 euro small bottle of water. But a nice staff won't make up for a hostel that has strange smells coming from the bathroom, 6 beds cramped in a tiny room, and stairs so steep and winding that you're terrified to use them. This hostel's only redeeming quality, besides the staff, was the really comfy blanket on the bed, and the fact that it's located relatively close to a major square and several main tram lines.
