There is a pub attached to the hostel and the food was very nice indeed. Also the common room was very cleen, has wi-fi. Very happy with our accomadation. I would stay there again.

The hostel has an excellent location, right in the heart of Letterfrack, at walking distance from the National Park of Connemara and all the facilities the village has to offer. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the restaurant serves excellent food.

Le déjeuner était un point négatif. Le personnel dépose le déjeuner en début de matinée et tout le monde peut se servir. Vaisselle à faire soi-même et choix très restreint.

We arrived way before the real check-in time, so our room wasn't ready yet. Very nicely, we were proposed to drop our bag in our room, they would clean it during the afternoon. "Clean" is a big word, as the towels were dirty, the bed linen doubtful and the trash can still full. For the rest, the stay was nice. Food in the pub is good (huge portions!), people very friendly, we were given bikes for free a whole day.. There is coffee, bread and cereals you can eat any time, if you want more, you can use the fridge and the cooker (the supermarket accross the street is open from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week).

bien situé dans le Connemara, la propreté du linge de lit était douteuse,le couloir donnant sur les chambres avait une forte odeur de moisi, chambres très humides. cuisine et salon agréables mais propreté douteuse aussi.aucun contact avec le personnel d'accueil, à part pour la remise des clés.

Bards Den is very good hostel with friendly, helpful staff that make it a very enjoyable place to stay in a great location close to the Connemara national park and Kyllamore abbey.

FANTASTIC stay. Wonderful restaurant attached, very attentive staff, and they even lent my mom and I bikes so we could explore nearby Kylemore Abbey and Renvyle Peninsula, which is the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen. And it's home to Grace O'Malley, Pirate Queen's, Castle.

Truly, you get what you pay for. During our ten night stay in Ireland, this was without doubt our worst accommodation--but it was also the cheapest. The room was not outwardly dirty, but we wore slippers or socks in the bedroom at all times (even into bed) because we did not want to risk touching the floor. The shower was laughable: even if you turned it on high, it would only trickle at you and then randomly spurt out fountains of water for periods of less than 20 seconds. The room was freezing. There was a heater in it, but that heater did not give off enough heat to even warm our heads, though it was positioned just above the headboard of our beds. So we also made use of the additional heater the owners thoughtfully provided for guests; this was practically useless, as it barely heated the square foot surrounding it. But it did serve to dry my gloves before morning. Finally, the owners were never around. They ran the bar as well as the hostel, so they were either in the bar (which you had to walk around outside to get to) or they were sleeping because of their late hours from the previous night. Overall, we wouldn't repeat the experience and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Nice hostel ideally located beside Connemara National Park in Letterfrack. Double ensuite rooms were excellent and had hot shower facilities and the rooms were nice and warm. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great with plenty of toast and cereal. Kitchen facilities available to cook your own meals if needed or there's pub ...

Breakfast was great with plenty of toast and cereal. Kitchen facilities available to cook your own meals if needed or there's pub grub. Only downside was the noise but if you have ear plugs you'll be fine.
