Next to Astoria metro station -a strategic central location 500 meters from the Danube river and other important places such as Kalvin ter, Ferenciek tere, Blaha Lujza ter and Deak F. ter, our hostel is a small, friendly and cozy hostel, opposite to the Grand Sinagogue -one of the city's landmarks- and 200 meters from the National Museum, and not far from other sights such as St. Stephen's Basilica, the Central Hall Market and the Gellert and Rudas Thermal baths, the Duna Corso and a bit further the Royal Palace and many other places of historical interest. We offer a Wi-Fi free internet connection, a confortable common room with a satelite TV, a furnished kitchen for self-catering, individual lockers with own key, a NO-CURFEW and FLEXIBLE check-out policy.

Our young, friendly and open minded staff speak English, Spanish or Italian. We have double bed rooms and rooms with 2, 3, 4, 8 and 10 beds. Some of the rooms are located at an apartment next to the hostel and others are at an apartment facing the Danube river -with an spectacular view of the Danube and its surroundings -as shown in the pics- which are assigned on request and depending on availability at the arrival time. There are also special discounts for long stays. We are ready to provide our guests with useful information, such as walking, caving and sight seeing tours, restaurants, concerts, etc. We do enjoy a cool and relaxed atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home. Ours is an small hostel situated in a 19th century middle class residential building. The common room is open until midnight. For those wishing to party we can reccommend some of the nearby clubs, discos and pubs (we have many in the area!).

NOTES. 1) We will appreciate if you mention accurately your arrival time to the hostel. If there are any changes in it let us know. 2) The price is in euros and the payment is expected to be made in cash at arrival either in euros or its equivalent in Hungarian currency -buying price for euros (as if one buys euros).

Directions

The Museum Guest House
From the main railway station Keleti p.u.: Take the red metro line (M2) -outside the railway station, to the left- in direction to Déli p.u. and get off at the 2nd stop 'Astoria'. Take the further exit to the right and find Károly Körút No. 10. We are on the 1st floor, bell number 1 (by lift we are one floor up, but 2 floors up if you take the stairs, as the 'first' floor is in reality what in Hungary is called 'half-floor').

From Déli p.u. railway station: Take the red metro line (M2) and get off at 'Astoria'. Then proceed as indicated above. From Nyugati p.u. railway station: Take the blue metro line (M3) in direction to 'Köbánya-Kispest' and get off at 'Deák F. tér'. Then take the left exit to the 'Károly Körút' and walk along it down to the number 10.

From the International Bus Station 'Népliget': Take the blue metro line (M3) in direction to 'Újpest-Központ' and get off at 'Kálvin tér'. Then take the exit to the 'Múzeum Körút' and walk along it up to Astoria metro station. After Astoria the 'Múzeum körút' changes name to 'Károly körút'. Find the number 10. We are on the 1st floor.

From the Ferihegy Airport: By taxi: This is the best way if you are 2, 3 or 4 persons. (aprox. 17 euros to the hostel, plus a customary 10[[][%]] tip. Check with the driver the aprox. cost before you board the taxi!) By public transportation: you need to buy 2 tickets (one for the bus and one for the metro) from the ticket's machine at the bus stop outside the exit. Take the bus up to the last stop (Köbánya-Kispest) -which is also the starting station of the blue metro line (M3). Then punch the 2nd ticket before boarding the metro. Get off at 'Kálvin tér' and take the exit to the 'Múzeum körút', walk along it up to 'Astoria' metro station. From Astoria the Múzeum körút(avenue) changes name to Károly körút. Find the number 10 and ring the bell number 1. We are on the 1st floor. By Airport Minibus: They have a desk right outside the exit from the customs. The fee is aprox. 10 euros per passanger up to the hostel.
