The rooms were crowded and the staff was impersonal. It's a good value for last minute Oktoberfest booking, but I would never stay there again.

I got bitten by bed bugs at this hostel! Really! I woke-up in the morning and my whole body was covered in little red bites. Through-out the day the bites got bigger and itchier. Eventually I went to the doctor who put me on cortisone (a steroid) to treat the bites.

I got bitten by bed bugs at this hostel! Really! I woke-up in the morning and my whole body was covered in little red bites. Through-out the day the bites got bigger and itchier. Eventually I went to the doctor who put me on cortisone (a steroid) to treat the bites.
Had I not been bitten, I still would not recommend this hostel for several other reasons.
1. Security: The dorm rooms are on the ground floor with windows and balconies facing the street. The door to the balcony had a very flimsy lock on it. Anyone from the street 5 feet away could easily have broken in.
2. Noise: Since the dorms face the street on the ground floor you can hear traffic all night. Also of annoyance, there is a constant ticking from the the light at the cross-walk.
3. Staff: Where slow and unhelpful. It took at least 15 min. to check-in and out.
4. Alcohol rules: You can't drink in your room or in the common areas. There is a bar in the common area, but they only let you drink their beer (which is over-priced and lukewarm). When my friends and I protested, the guy at the desk told us to write a bad review on-line. So I have.

a bit of a walk to Hbf, but manageable. was a great hostel when inside, but it was a real hike back from the Hofbrauhaus after that many beers.
