If you go to Zagreb, Ravnice is THE place :)

Hostel is very good, but a litlle empty when we were there.

Atmosphere is lively (can sometimes be noisy). The garden is very, very nice! Staff is helpful and welcoming. Though not near the city centre, the hostel is well connected by tram (20 min). But: Hostel's located next to the biggest park in Zagreb!

There was a supermarket, a zoo and the Maksimir park nearby. Staff was really helpful (for example booked us a trip to the Plitvice Jezera national park). There were several kitchens we were able to use. In our floor there was only one bathroom so we had to use the bathrooms in other floors. The bathrooms weren't very clean. The free breakfast was simple with bread and cereal. It was nice that we were able to use the internet for free for one hour. Our room was a four-bed female dorm. During our first night though, a couple (a MAN and a woman) came into the room. We felt really uncomfortable by this. This was very inconsiderate of the staff. The security lockers in the room didn't work and there were no air conditioning so it was very hot. All in all we were satisfied with our stay at the hostel. Read less ▲

There was some really loud guests partying in their room until 11pm then going out and returning to the hostel at 4 am continuing the party. I stayed for two nights and this procedure occurred both nights.

Very welcoming, excellent facilities, great sociable garden and quiet location within easy reach of the city centre. I would definitely stay here again!

It´s clean and a great place to meet other people. But nevertheless it´s a bit remote which means you need ca. 15min by tram to the City. All in all i would recommend this Hostel.

Directions Ravnice Youth Hostel

- from the MAIN SQUARE (trg Bana Jelacica) take tram 11 or 12.
- from the MAIN TRAIN STATION take tram 4
- from the MAIN BUS STATION take tram number 7.
- from the AIRPORT take a bus(30kn-4€) into the MAIN BUS STATION.
- ALL TRAMS MUST BE TAKEN IN THE DIRECTION OF DUBRAVA or DUBEC

* Your ride will take about 20 min and your stop is 'Ravnice' tram stop (it's the second stop after the football stadium, you'll see a kiosk and a field on the right side). The hostel is a 3 minutes walk(200m), simply take the road on the right hand side(Ravnice street) and then it's the second street on the left(You'll see a hostel sign on the balcony).

** Tram tickets can be bought at the kiosk for 12kn or from the driver for 15kn , daily ticket is 40kn and 3 day ticket is 100kn.

*** Night trams (24:00-5:00) go every 35min:
From main square and main train station take tram numbuer 34, from main bus station take tram  number 31 to the main train station.
