  The TreeHouse Backpacker Hotel is a popular youth hostel just 100km from Salzburg and 70km from Linz. Since it is just a few years old, the TreeHouse is still one of the best kept secrets in the hostel industry.   The TreeHouse is located in a traditional, little village called Gruenau im Almtal, in Upper Austria. In Gruenau, you will find beautiful countryside, crystal clear lakes surrounded by majestic mountains and an atmosphere that is sure to make Gruenau one of your most memorable destinations. In spring/summer/fall, the TreeHouse organizes rafting, canyoning, hiking, mountain biking, horse back riding, swimming and many other ways to enjoy the Austrian countryside. Simply relaxing in the cool shade of the trees or enjoying a spectacular sunset from a mountain top, Gruenau can provide something for everyone.

In winter (sometimes into spring), Gruenau hosts one of the most inexpensive ski areas in Austria, the Kasberg. With over 40km of runs, the Kasberg offers skiing and snowboarding for all levels of expertise. The TreeHouse is conveniently located just a 5 minute walk to the chair lift. Keeping the traveler in mind, the TreeHouse also provides ski clothes for those who just couldn't find room for those bulky items in their bags. So, now there is no excuse.
